Today marks our 4th rehearsal. Our cast members sat around connecting with each other and enjoying each other’s company before we dove into the heart of the play.
Breast Cancer Diaries elicits a plethora of emotions; from endearing, to hopeful, to shocking and even anger and inspiration. It’s a true depiction of what life is like when you’re living with cancer. Our director, Helene Montagna put us through our paces and commented on how we could improve our dialogues to make the scenes flow better.
It’s amazing for me to watch the play come to life as we all bring our own personal experiences. With the exception of Barbara Scalici, all our actresses have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are living with various stages of the disease. I think that fact is what brings us closer together and motivates us to create a performance that will rival any Broadway production. And though Barbara isn’t living with breast cancer, she’s been touched by it through friends and loved ones.
A special thanks to Jodi Garda who’s come onboard as our Photographer and took some fabulous pictures of us today.
